Point-of-sale that keeps working when the restaurant is full.
I build POS apps and card payment integrations for restaurants, cafés and shops across Europe, on Stripe Terminal, Viva.com and SUNMI Android hardware.

What I build for your venue
From the app your staff tap all day to the card reader on the counter. One person is responsible for all of it working together.
POS apps for restaurants and shops
Order taking, tables, modifiers, discounts, kitchen and bar tickets, and end-of-day reports. Built as an Android app that runs on the terminal your staff carry.
Card payment integration
Payments through Stripe Terminal or Viva.com: taking payments, refunds, tips and split bills, with every payment matched to the order it belongs to.
SUNMI hardware setup
Printers, scanners, customer displays and kiosk mode, configured the same way on every device, so a new terminal is ready to work the day it arrives.
Back office and reporting
Menu and price management, VAT breakdowns, sales exports for your accountant, and one view across several locations.
Migration and support
Moving from an old POS is planned around your opening hours. After go-live I stay available for fixes, updates and new features.
Stripe Terminal or Viva.com: which fits your venue
I have integrated both. The right choice depends on your country, your existing merchant agreement and how much of the checkout you want to own.
| Topic | Stripe Terminal | Viva.com |
|---|---|---|
| Good fit when | You want in-person and online payments on one platform, and full control of the checkout experience inside your own app. | You want a European acquirer, local support and a terminal set-up that suits hospitality and retail. |
| How I connect it | The Stripe Terminal SDK inside the Android POS app, with a small backend that issues connection tokens. The app finds the reader, collects the payment and records the result. | Through Viva’s terminal integration: the POS sends the amount, the terminal handles the card, and the result comes back to the app to close the order. |
| Worth knowing | Reader models and features differ by country, so I check your market before you buy hardware. | Merchant onboarding runs through Viva, so I plan for that lead time in the schedule. |
With either provider, your POS never handles card numbers. The terminal reads the card and talks to the provider directly.
SUNMI devices, set up so staff never have to think about them
Hardware problems show up at the worst moment. I configure and test every part of the device on the counter before it goes into service.
- Receipt and kitchen printing
- Clean receipts, kitchen tickets that reach the right printer, and cash drawers opened by the printer where the hardware supports it.
- Barcode and QR scanning
- Scan products, vouchers and table QR codes with the built-in scanner or a paired one.
- Customer-facing display
- Show guests their order and total, and prompt for a tip or payment on models with a second screen.
- Kiosk mode
- The device is locked to your POS app so nobody wanders into settings, with a controlled way to roll out updates.
- Fleet setup
- App, printer, reader pairing and network settings applied identically to every device, so replacing a broken one is routine.
- Network fallback
- Wi-Fi with mobile data as backup, and clear behaviour when the connection drops in the middle of service.
From box to first order
Start with one location. Once the first venue runs smoothly, adding more is much easier.
Scope the venue
We go through your menu, tables, staff flow, opening hours and country, then choose a payment provider and hardware.
Set up the devices
I provision the SUNMI devices, printers and card readers, and install the app.
Test on real hardware
Test payments, refunds, receipts, printer failures and a dropped connection, all on the actual devices.
Go live at one location
I am there, or on call, for the first services so problems get fixed while they are small.
Roll out and support
More locations, updates, and improvements based on what staff tell us after a few weeks of real use.
Europe has more than one rulebook
Denmark is where I started. Every new country brings its own tax, fiscal and payment details, so I check them before writing code.
- Card payments
- Strong customer authentication under PSD2 is handled by the terminal and the provider. I design the checkout flow around it.
- Card data
- Card numbers go from the terminal straight to the provider and never pass through your app or servers, which keeps your PCI DSS scope small.
- VAT and receipts
- Prices include VAT, and receipts show the VAT line the way each country expects. Danish receipts, for example, show moms.
- Fiscal rules
- Some markets require certified cash register components, such as the TSE in Germany. I scope this per country and involve certified providers where the law asks for it.
- Privacy
- GDPR by default: collect only the customer data you need, and host backend services in EU regions.
- Languages and currency
- Interfaces and receipts in the language of your staff and guests, with EUR, DKK, SEK and other currencies.
Built and run in a real Danish restaurant
I worked on the point-of-sale system of a restaurant in Denmark, where it had to hold up during service: fast order entry, card payments that go through, and receipts that print every time.
That work gave me hands-on experience with Stripe Terminal, Viva.com terminals and SUNMI devices. Now I am offering the same to other restaurants, cafés and shops in Europe.
You work directly with me, Samiullah Jamil, the person who writes the code and sets up the devices. There is no agency layer between you and the work.
Questions venues ask first
Do you replace our current POS or work with it?
Either. If your current system holds you back, I can build a replacement. If it works well, I can add card payments or hardware around it. We decide after a short review of how your venue runs.
Which payment provider should I choose?
It depends on your country, your current merchant agreement and how much control you want over checkout. I work with Stripe Terminal and Viva.com, and I will tell you which fits, including when the honest answer is neither.
Does the POS see or store card numbers?
No. Cards are read by the payment terminal and sent to the provider. My software receives the outcome (approved or declined) and a reference for reconciliation.
What happens if the internet goes down?
It depends on the provider, the reader and the country. Some flows can continue offline and others cannot. I scope this before you commit to hardware, and I build the app to fail clearly instead of silently.
What hardware do I need?
My main platform is SUNMI Android POS devices, plus the card readers or terminals that belong to your payment provider. After the scoping call you get a specific shopping list for your venue.
Can you work with venues outside Denmark?
Yes. Denmark is where I built my first restaurant system, and I am taking on restaurants, cafés and shops across Europe. Tax and fiscal rules differ by country, so I check them at the start of every project.
